Inital ideas on soap opera magazine

My initial ideas on my groups soap opera magazine

We wanted to include in our magazine:

• Interviews with main characters in order to learn more about the casts and their characters personalities.
• Photo shoots of the main characters in order to gain knowledge of who is who in the soap.
• A Television guide of what times television programmes will  be being shown during the week, it will say what time all programmes will be on and which days.
• We wanted to include pages on all important events that will be coming up, from special soap episodes to awards evenings.

We wanted to show all the generic conventions of soap opera magazine. These included:

• A bold heading with a sub title under or around the heading
• Bar code
• Showing the time and date
• Having a weekly issue rather than a daily issue
• Having the background as a large photo rather than a plain colour
• Having a tag line showing on the front page
• Showing the reader the new characters of the new soap
• Showing main story lines
• Showing the price
• Bright outstanding colours
• Big magazine name standing out

Before making our magazine we will look over these initial ideas and try to make our soap opera magazine fit the generic conventions as far as possible in order to make our magazine to the best of its ability.
